Our Story

From a Passion for the Ocean to a Thriving Coastal Adventure Hub CoastalWaves was founded by a group of ocean lovers who believed that Canada’s coastlines offer some of the world’s most underrated water sports experiences. What started as a small surf rental shop on Vancouver Island has since grown into a nationwide platform dedicated to extreme water sports, eco-friendly tourism, and coastal conservation. Over the years, we expanded beyond surfing and began offering kiteboarding lessons, stand-up paddleboarding, and deep-sea kayaking tours. We partnered with local instructors, environmental groups, and tourism boards to provide top-tier experiences while protecting the delicate marine ecosystem. Our community has been instrumental in shaping CoastalWaves. Through customer feedback and collaborations with adventurers, we’ve introduced tailored training programs, premium gear rentals, and guided expeditions that ensure a safe yet thrilling experience.
